Recent mailings - HSC Trials + NSW Geog + Trial Geog School Certificate were posted to 2010 member schools Week 7 Term 2 .

The 2010 Year 8 Trivia Quiz on the 29th October has been booked out again very quickly.

Year 8 Geography Trivia Quiz 2009 was held at Rooty Hill RSL Friday 30th October 2009. Over 300 Year 8 students and over 30 teachers/parents attended. Feedback on the day was extremely positive. Many schools travelled a great distance to attend including Mudgee High, Kiama High, Edmond Rice College Wollongong , Oak Flats High and Queanbeyan High . Congratulations to all teams on the day for the way they conducted themselves . Music CDs were won from the floor. Kiama High took home the winning trophy followed closely by Hurlstone Ag High X2 and Mudgee High.

The 2009 results are outlined below:

Cut offs for certificates were 50-41 High Distinction (top 7%), 40-36 Distinction (top 20%), 35-29 Credit (top 50%).
Just under 13,000 students participated from 100 schools. The highest mark attained by a student in NSW was 49 achieved by 6 students, while 24 students scored 48. The state average was 28.6, which is slightly lower than last year (29.3)
Thank you to all the teachers in schools who coordinated this exercise and to Steve Etheridge (president) who organised the competition.

2010 Business Studies and Economics Student Days were very successfully run during Term 2 2010. Thanks to Business organisers Ian Biddle / Glenn Wilkins and the Economics team of Rose Calfas /Steve Duclos.

The annual teachers in-service will held at Penrith Paceway Wednesday 18th Aug 2010. Flyers go to schools early Term 3
